Macro Wild World

About the Site

Through these wildlife photographs, my goal is to ignite curiosity and cultivate a greater appreciation for the incredible diversity of species on our planet.

A key objective for this site is to serve as a visual reference, assisting in the identification and understanding of various animal species.

On a personal note, this platform was born from a desire to organize and bring purpose to the thousands of photographs I’ve captured over the years.

Most of the images featured here were taken using a macro lens, which inspired the name “Macro Wild World”.

About Me

Hi, I’m Cham. My passion for wildlife sparked at a young age. Growing up in Singapore during the 1970s, I spent my childhood deeply connected to nature—watching documentaries, exploring wild habitats, and keeping animals.

My journey into macro-photography began in earnest in 2011. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to meet and connect with like-minded individuals, which has provided me the opportunities to travel abroad to capture the beauty of wildlife through my lens.

Although trained as an engineer, I’ve had the incredible privilege of serving as Zoo Designer at the Singapore Zoo for the past 22 years. During this time, I’ve have design and oversaw the construction of over 120 animal exhibits across the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders (formerly known as River Safari), and Jurong Bird Park.
